چکیده
Abstract In response to rapidly growing energy demands, Chinese authorities plan invest more in hydropower development. However, there are concerns about the possible effects on macroeconomy. This paper uses SinoTERM, a dynamic multi-regional computable general equilibrium model (CGE) of economy, analyze economic impact large development projects. The features regional labor market dynamics and an electricity subdivision module with substitutability between various types generation. results suggest that will boost growth project region. Most sectors region benefit from such as other services, health, education, while some suffer loss output because substantial increase real wages. For national, every 10,000 yuan investment can drive national GDP 1,000 yuan, cost is expected be recovered ten years. By end 2040, wage around 0.16% higher than baseline scenario. could only justified if net environmental benefits outweigh this loss.

The Effect of Climate Change on Economic Growth (Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model Approach in Iran)
Climate change is one of the most important issues affecting different economic sectors. Although this phenomenon has had a larger effect on the agricultural sector due to the heavy dependence of agriculture on weather conditions as compared to the other economic sectors, other economic sectors such as the industry, mining and service sectors are also influenced by weather changes due to their ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Economic Effects of Taxes on Pollutants in Iran Using a Computable General Equilibrium Model
This study investigates the economic effects of taxes on pollutants in Iran in 2011. For this purpose, computable general equilibrium model with 2011 social accounting matrix is applied. Six scenarios taxes on pollutants have defined and estimatethe effects on economic variables and production quantity of activities. The results show that the taxes on pollutants is conducive to environmental im...
متن کاملThe economic impact of restricted water supply: a computable general equilibrium analysis.
Water problems are typically studied at the level of the river catchment. About 70% of all water is used for agriculture, and agricultural products are traded internationally. A full understanding of water use is impossible without understanding the international market for food and related products, such as textiles. The water embedded in commodities is called virtual water. Based on a general...
متن کاملEstimating the Efficient Shocks' Share in Iran's Economic Growth Fluctuations (Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Approach)
In economic, the degree of intervention of policymakers in creation of economic stability and the response to economic fluctuations is one of the most important problems. The higher the share of efficient shocks in economic fluctuation, the lower the degree of policy response. This study evaluates the contribution of efficient shocks in creating of economic fluctuations and also estimates poten...
متن کاملAssessing economic impacts of China's water pollution mitigation measures through a dynamic computable general equilibrium analysis
In this letter, we apply an extended environmental dynamic computable general equilibrium model to assess the economic consequences of implementing a total emission control policy. On the basis of emission levels in 2007, we simulate different emission reduction scenarios, ranging from 20 to 50% emission reduction, up to the year 2020. The results indicate that a modest total emission reduction...
